POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE
Strength and Conditioning Coach—High School
(First Semester and Second Semester)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency. (For example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.)
- First-aid and CPR certification required.
- Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in analysis and techniques of strength training.
- Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for high school population.
- Strong motivational abilities.
- Evidence of ability to interact positively with student athletes, colleagues, and the public.
- Evidence of strong organizational skills and effective oral and written communication skills.

Athletic Director
JOB GOAL
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a strength and conditioning programs for all sports, with three major goals of improving athletic performance, reducing athletic injuries, and teaching lifelong fitness and movement skills.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Devises training plans according to sound scientific principles, supervises training sessions, evaluates athletes, and maintains athlete records.
- Teaches strength and conditioning classes if needed.
- Meets regularly with coaches to determine what the athletes need to work on.
- Maintains strength and conditioning facilities.
- Establishes policies and procedures and plans for safe and professional operation of the facility.
- Designs and implements strength training and conditioning programs in-season, off-season, and pre-season for all school-sanctioned female and male athletic programs in a manner that reflects research-driven practices.
- Works in cooperation with athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes.
- Facilitates a collaborative relationship among sport coaches, sports medicine, and strength and conditioning staff.
- Designs and implement policies and procedures for strength and conditioning program in accordance with NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards Guidelines.
- Develops systems for tracking athlete attendance and athlete progress in conjunction with sport coaches.
- Conducts annual needs-analysis for each sport team in conjunction with sport coach and team’s athletic trainer at the conclusion of each sport season.
- Conducts and reviews departmental risk management plan.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Addendum contract basis at 5.0 percent pay on the Supplemental Pay Schedule for first and second semester session. The Governing Board will establish salary and work year.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
