We are looking for an experienced Director of Aquatic Therapy Center at Home of the Innocents to lead the daily operations of our Aquatic Therapy Center and recreational gym. This leadership role is essential to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for the children, families, and staff we serve—ensuring each person who enters our facility is treated with dignity and respect.

A Day in the Life

As the Director of Aquatic Therapy Center you will manage all operations of our Aquatic Therapy Center, supervise team members, and oversee our recreational gym and event space. You’ll ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations, collaborate on scheduling, develop engaging recreational programs, and maintain the high standards of our facilities. Whether it's lifeguarding, supervising, or working directly with participants, your leadership will be critical to the health, safety, and joy of those in our care.

How This Position Contributes to the Mission

  • Supervise daily operations of the Aquatic Therapy Center to maintain a safe and clean environment for service recipients, visitors, and team members.
  • Develop and oversee campus recreation programs and coordinate their execution.
  • Manage chemical and pool operations, including lifeguarding and swim instruction when needed.
  • Recruit, train, and support aquatic and recreation staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Enforce compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Create and manage department budgets and resource allocations.
  • Maintain relationships with external instructors, vendors, and contractors.
  • Track and order necessary chemical, medical, and office supplies.
  • Cultivate relationships with participants, families, and the community to promote engagement with programs.
  • Ensure performance management, training, and evaluation of direct reports is consistent and effective.
  • Contribute to the overall success of our campus by supporting cross-functional needs and projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory management experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of aquatic experience.
  • Current certifications required:
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Basic First Aid
  • Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
  • Certified Pool Operator
  • Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and manage conflicts.
  • Must be flexible, positive, and willing to handle emergency or unplanned situations.
  • Physical ability to move throughout the day, work with chemicals, and lift at least 40 pounds to a height of 3 feet.
