Job Summary:
The Recreation Coordinator II position includes, the planning, scheduling, organizing, logistical support, and maintaining high standard program opportunities year round.
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this position organizes, creates, coordinates, and manages youth and family programming including but not limited to summer day camps, internal program initiatives, and contracted programming in arts and education, athletics, health and wellness, and outdoor education fields. This position acts as an on-site coordinator providing excellent customer service while supporting seasonal camp staff during operations as well as facilitating programming to the public.
**Starting Salary Range**
: The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($53,040.00 - $64,979.20 annually). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.
## Essential Job Functions
- Coordinates, implements, and manages recreation programming, including, but not limited to, overseeing daily operations of recreation programs, assisting with supervision and training of seasonal staff, coordinating the use of Parks and Recreation and needed school facilities, registering participants, budgeting and accounting for registration fees and program expenses.
- Monitors registrations and attendance of classes and programs.
- Negotiates and coordinates contracts and agreements for recreation programming.
- Coordinates and maintains program registrations, rosters, and communication with contractors as needed.
- Assists with overall evaluation and implementation of programs, in conjunction with class instructors and volunteers.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations on modifications to existing programs.
- Assist in preparing purchase orders and purchases supplies and materials for recreation programs, facilities, and activities.
- Assists in the creation, distribution, and record keeping of marketing, newsletter, public information and funding materials.
- Support other department functions as assigned.
- Provides internal and external customer service and maintains relationships.

## Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. A typical way to qualify is a Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience in general recreation OR; an Associate's degree in Parks and Recreation or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience in general recreation programming.

- Minimum 18 years of age
