Job Description:

This role will assist in conducting recreation activities at Hazel Parker Playground and will also assist with Therapeutic Recreation sports, programs and activities, including Special Olympics Competitions.

Examples of Duties:

• Monitors, maintains, and secures center facilities, supplies, and equipment.
• Sets up necessary accompaniments for events, programs, etc. conducted in the center, including arranging chairs, tables, and preparing supplies.
• Welcomes visitors and answers incoming telephone calls.
• Notifies patrons of activity schedules and registration requirements.
• Assists with online registration.
• Obtains and maintains attendance records of participants.
• Leads programs and activities for kids at Hazel Parker Playground.
• Directs summer camp operations at Hazel Parker Playground.
• Attends Special Olympics practices and games.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Three months of related experience
• High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or active pursuit of a high school diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to obtain a driver's license, CPR certification, and First Aid Certification with 6 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of work experience
• Experience working with special needs population
