Job Description:
This role will assist in conducting recreation activities at Hazel Parker Playground and will also assist with Therapeutic Recreation sports, programs and activities, including Special Olympics Competitions.
Examples of Duties:
- Monitors, maintains, and secures center facilities, supplies, and equipment.
- Sets up necessary accompaniments for events, programs, etc. conducted in the center, including arranging chairs, tables, and preparing supplies.
- Welcomes visitors and answers incoming telephone calls.
- Notifies patrons of activity schedules and registration requirements.
- Assists with online registration.
- Obtains and maintains attendance records of participants.
- Leads programs and activities for kids at Hazel Parker Playground.
- Directs summer camp operations at Hazel Parker Playground.
- Attends Special Olympics practices and games.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Three months of related experience
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or active pursuit of a high school diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain a driver's license, CPR certification, and First Aid Certification with 6 months of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of work experience
- Experience working with special needs population
