Shifts available: Monday- Friday 5:45a-1pm
Must be 18 years or older

Develop lifelong safety and leadership skills

Duties include:

2. Maintains safety and security of the pool and its patrons at all times
3. Rules are explained and enforced in a courteous, professional, and firm manner.
4. Knows/reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately.
5. Maintain effective, positive relationships with members, participants and other staff.
6. Performs chemical testing , as required.
7. Participates in emergency drills and in service to the level in which staff have been trained.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to maintain American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
• Ability to work with a diverse population including children
• Comfort in and around water
• Must pass a background check (18 years of age or older)
• Must pass a pre employment skill check
• • 300 Yard Swim
  • 2 minute water tread
  • Timed submerged brick retrieval

Summary

Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
