Job SummaryExercise Instructor is responsible for providing a well-rounded, professional Exercise Class. She/hemaintains expertise in a safe, effective exercise guidelines as set forth by American College of SportsMedicine (ACSM). Exercise Instructor serves as a fit role model. Qualifications Employed on a part-time basis. Applicable professional certification recommended. Current CPR certification. Non-tobacco user. OCH will train the incumbent on all aspects of Healthcare Insurance Portability and AccountabilityAct (HIPAA). HIPAA training and certification are requirements of this position. The incumbent willadhere to all security and patient confidentiality rules and regulations mandated by FederalGovernment and State of Mississippi. Upon commencement of employment, the employee mustsign a Patient Confidentiality and Security Agreement and abide by OCH Confidentiality, Privacyand Security Policies and Procedures. Failure to adhere to HIPAA standards, OCH RegionalMedical Center Security and Confidentiality policies, and those set forth by Federal Governmentand State of Mississippi will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Job Relationships Responsible directly to Coordinator of applicable area. Works closely with Coordinator, other Instructors and class participants. Principle AccountabilitiesPlanning Design class to meet needs of class participants. Offer modification options for individuals. Teaching Explain class goals and procedures. Effectively demonstrate proficiency in the procedures. Communication Effectively communicate and maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships. Report pertinent information to Coordinator. Document class attendance. Research Exhibit knowledge of current issues related to area of responsibility. Cooperate in data collection of related research. Complete professional certification after sufficient experience. Evaluation Participate in evaluation of self on ongoing basis to determine strengths and weaknesses. Participate in constructive evaluation of other Instructors to strengthen overall program. Professional Attributes Exhibit enthusiastic, optimistic and encouraging attitude. Present loud, clear speaking voice. Display a physically fit attitude and appearance while maintaining optimal body fat. Dress appropriately for class.
