Lifeguard (Student)

Under general supervision, ensures the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

• Be attentive to the pool deck at all times when swimmers are present and enforce all pool rules and know the emergency action plan
• Be to work fifteen minutes prior to shift start time. If needed: start to set pool lane lines, put in tot docks, assemble equipment, and be great swimmers.
• Return the pool to the regular configuration at the end of the shift. All equipment should be put away
• Project a positive and friendly attitude to all swimmers
• Attend specified aquatic personnel meetings and training sessions.

• Current Lifeguard Certification, First Aid, and CPR/AED-FPR
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the aquatic director.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• P referred 6 months to 1-year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Proficient swimmer

Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 20 hours per week when school is in session and no more than 35 hours per week during breaks.
