The Lifeguard positionis an integral part of the camper's visit, providing an experience beyond all expectations. You will execute and support all aspects ofthe daily pool and lake operations.The goal is to oversee the aquatic facilities and ensure that allcampers,guestsand staffare safe and adhering to rules and policies. Lifeguards will be responsible for the safe and friendly operation of all aquatic facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledgeable in anarray ofaquatic and lifeguardingpractices

  • Ensureparticipantsare acting responsibly andsafely while in and around theaquaticsfacility

  • Display professionalismandremain ready for a rescueat all times

  • Participate in In-Service Trainings and continue to reinforce skills

  • Remain vigilant of all surroundings and be able to recognizeand respond toany guests in distress

  • Actin a swift and professional manner to quickly render care and provide first aid when applicable

  • Must not hesitate to call for assistance if needed, even innon-emergencysituations

  • Ensure pathways are clear and rescue equipment is ready for use at all times

  • MaintainWoodwardsafety logs, operational sheets, schedules and incident logs

  • Attend and engage in weekly meetings to discuss current issuesand safety concerns

  • Carry out and support all aquatic operations/maintenance needs including but not limited to:

  • (1) Swimming Pool - 3'-5' deep with additional recreations offerings

  • Maintain the cleanliness of thefacilitiesincluding sweeping, picking up trash and placing items in lost and found daily

  • Clean and put away equipmentduring rotations to and from each facility

  • Report maintenance,equipmentor guest'sissues immediately

  • Other duties asassigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • +/- 50 Campers (7-17 years old)

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Current Lifeguard Certification

  • CPR/AED, First Aid Certification

  • 1 Year of medical experience

  • Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance throu gh the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fin gerprinting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred

PRE-REQUISITES

Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work:

Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed.

  • Mandated Reporter Training Certificate

  • Safesport Training Certificate

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.

  • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.

  • Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.

  • Primary on-site work location: Woodward, PA

  • P referred C ommitment: Minimum of 3 week commitment preferred
