General Duty Statement
Robbinsdale is seeking two individuals to coordinate Birdtown Summer Blast, an exciting summer day camp opportunity for area youth ages 6-12. Camps will take place at Manor and Lee Parks. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM. The City title for this position is Recreation Specialist II.

- Coordinates and manages daily activities at program locations.
- Communicates all site concerns to supervisor.
- Coordinates and may lead scheduled staff trainings, orientations, and meetings for camp staff throughout the summer.
- Under direction of the supervisor, facilitates activities for children of all ages.
- Coordinates participation in pop-ups, events. Ensures various recreation department needs are met.
- Communicates clearly and provides direction to youth of varying ages.
- Ensures adherence to established policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Develops positive relationships with staff, participants, and parents.
- Ensures that established procedures are followed in emergency situations.
[ Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum age: 19 years
- Previous experience working in a camp setting, or previous playing and/or coaching experience.
- Knowledge of recreation and sports activities.
- 2-3 years of experience working with youth, preferably in a camp setting.
- Ability to obtain CPR and/or First Aid certification prior to start of camp
Preferred Training and Experience
- 1-2 years supervisory experience in a camp setting
- Working towards or have a teaching degree
- Current CPR and/or First Aid certification
