Position Definition: The Camp Counselor supervises campers aged 7 to 14, assisting the Camp Director with daily sessions and leading engaging activities. Counselors ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment through activities like arts and crafts, gym games, sports, and themed programs.
General Duties:
? Supervise and actively engage campers, leading both small and large group activities while ensuring safety and promoting engagement.
? Assist with structured activities, support camp programs, and contribute to the setup, breakdown, and cleaning to maintain an organized and safe campsite.
? Lead camp programs, guide campers through daily activities, and serve as a positive role model, promoting respect, inclusion, and teamwork.
? Manage camper behavior with patience, focusing on safety, skill development, and behavior management.
? Communicate effectively with campers, families, peers, and the leadership team.
? Foster a positive camper experience through team-oriented leadership, ensuring all campers feel valued and included.
? Assist with supervision of breakfast and lunch
Supervised By: Receives direct supervision from the Summer Camp Site Director or his/her designee

Compensation & Schedule
Pay: $16.94 per hour
Hours: Monday Friday, Can range from 16 to 35 hours per week between the hours of 8am to 4:30pm
Standard Camp Hours: Monday Friday from July 6th through August 8th (5 Week Commitment)
Attendance at all required pre-season training sessions (June 22nd through 26th) is mandatory
This position does not receive the benefits offered to Full Time employees

Minimum Qualifications
The minimum age for hiring is 16.
Prior experience as an educator, coach, or camp counselor, or experience with early childhood development is preferred.
