Title: Swim Coach Position Type: Seasonal or Temporary Search Type: External - minimum 7 days Department: 43R000 - Engagement & Outreach Division: 3R1000 - Communications and Brand Management Position Location: Richmond Campus Driver Classification: Non-Driver FLSA: Exempt Schedule Type: Part Time, No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week) Retirement: None Contact Person: Jesse Hood Job Summary/Basic Functions The Head Swim Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and administration of the University Club's swim program. This position provides strategic direction, on-deck coaching, and operational oversight to ensure a high-quality, competitive, and member-focused aquatics experience. Minimum Qualifications Two years of proven experience in competitive swim coaching, preferably with age group or club-level swimmers. Current lifeguard certification; Lifeguard Instructor or Pool Operator certification preferred CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong knowledge of aquatic safety standards and risk management. Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills Job Duties: 50% - Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive swim training programs for all skill levels; provide on-deck instruction, evaluate athlete performance, and foster a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and competitive excellence. - (Essential) 50% - Manage team scheduling, meet coordination, parent/member communication, and budget oversight; ensure compliance with all safety regulations, governing body standards, and Club policies while maintaining a safe and positive aquatics environment. - (Essential) Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
