Responsibilities: -Assist the head coach in developing and implementing a comprehensive cheerleading program that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. -Assist the head coach in planning and leading cheerleading practices, choreography sessions, and team meetings. -Coordinate and attend all cheerleading events, including games, competitions, and community performances. -Collaborate with school administrators, athletic directors, and other coaches to ensure the success of the cheerleading program. -Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and boosters regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations. -Manage eligibility and administrative policies and procedures. Qualifications: -Previous coaching experience in cheerleading, preferably at the high school level. -Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunts, tumbling, and dance routines. -Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes. -Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. -Commitment to promoting a positive team culture and fostering the personal development of student-athletes. -Required Certification in CPR, First Aid, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, and Heat Illness -Willingness to adhere to all school and athletic department policies and procedures. Florida law requires all Athletic Coaches to hold either a valid Florida Educator Certificate or a valid Athletic Coaching Certificate. The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) issues two types of Athletic Coaching Certificates. The Three-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate is issued to provide time to complete the Five-Year Athletic Coaching Certificate requirements. An additional Athletic Coaching Certificate is not required for individuals who hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
