Campers in Grades K-10 enjoy full days filled with swimming, outdoor adventures, creative arts, music and drama, sports, and hands-on activities that inspire confidence and curiosity. Each week brings new experiences, including climbing to new heights on the ropes course and soaring across the zipline, along with plenty of time to play, create, and relax with friends in a supportive community. Families can choose the weeks that fit their schedule while campers enjoy a fun, engaging, and memorable summer.

As a Camp Counselor, you'll help create an engaging, safe, and supportive camp experience for children in grades K-10. Camp staff lead group activities, promote social-emotional learning, and serve as role models throughout the camp day. (Free JCC Membership!)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and engage with campers in daily camp activities.
  • Build positive relationships and foster a sense of community within your group.
  • Promote and maintain physical and emotional safety for all campers.
  • Lead or assist with swimming time, games, art, sports, nature, and special events.
  • Help manage group transitions, behavior, and participation.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff and specialists to support camp programming.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp spaces and materials.
  • Communicate clearly with campers, staff, and families as needed.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required training and staff meetings.
  • Follow all camp policies, procedures, and health/safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training available).

  • Demonstrates a positive, patient, and team-oriented attitude in all interactions.
  • Ability to provide guidance, support, and informal leadership to team members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10-15 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, sit on the ground and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to swim and engage with children in structured and unstructured play activities both in an out of the water.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Outdoor conditions
  • Moderate to loud noise regularly
