Ready to spend your summer by the pool, soaking up the sun, and making a difference? The City of Sherwood is hiring Lifeguards to help keep our community safe while making every pool day fun and unforgettable! The City of Sherwood will also reimburse the certification fee if 280 hours is completed with us during the summer months. Must be 16 years of age or older to apply.

What You'll Do:

• Keep a watchful eye on swimmers to ensure a safe environment

• Enforce pool rules in a friendly and professional way

• Respond quickly and confidently in emergency situations

• Assist with opening/closing duties and general pool upkeep

• Help create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for all guests

What We're Looking For:

• Strong sense of responsibility and awareness

• Ability to stay focused in an active, outdoor environment

• Great communication and teamwork skills

• Must be able to swim well and pass required certifications

• Lifeguard/CPR certifications required (or ability to obtain)

Qualifications

Lifeguards will be trained on the working knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations, and techniques used in a comprehensive aquatics program. Applicant must successfully complete or possess American Red Cross Lifeguard training, First Aid / CPR / AED certifications. The City of Sherwood will also reimburse the certification fee if 280 hours is completed with us during the summer months. Must be 16 years of age or older to apply.

Special Requirements

All positions with the City of Sherwood are subject to a pre-employment background check. This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug screening. All positions are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening.

This position is seasonal and is not eligible for the City of Sherwood benefits package.
