JOB DESCRIPTION

Facility Supervisor- TU Fitness Center Downtown

Hourly Pay Rate: $12.00

The Recreational Aide will support Campus Recreation at the TU Fitness Center in various administrative and operational tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Enforcing TU Fitness Center policies
• Greeting customers
• Scanning identification cards and key tags to ensure guests are eligible to access the facility
• Answering phone calls and providing detailed answers to questions
• Performing opening and closing procedures
• Performing facility maintenance such as refilling gym wipes, performing hourly counts, re-racking weights, and picking up loose trash and equipment
• Administering Lost & Found log and storage
• Inventorying facility items and equipment
• Assisting with medical emergencies by providing care or calling Emergency Medical Services
• Documenting all incidents of injury, accident, or inappropriate behavior through Maxient
• Troubleshooting membership issues and assisting members with account issues
• Providing customer service

Qualifications:

• Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University
• A Federal Work Study Award (potentially)
• A CPR/FA/AED certification (potentially)
• Previous customer service or sales experience (potentially)
• Knowledge of proper exercise form, etiquette, equipment, and technique (potentially)

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for customer service and risk management of the TU Fitness Center located on the Downtown Campus. They monitor facility access, operate complex member management software, conduct routine safety checks, address policy adherence, and perform opening and closing procedures. Facility Supervisors are responsible for facility maintenance including upholding the cleanliness of the facility, refilling gym wipes, performing hourly counts, and re-racking weights. They serve as an informational resource for matters relating to general fitness and enforce the TU Fitness policies.
