Job Description Summary
Athletics Camp Counselors for upcoming intercollegiate sports camps. This role is vital in providing a safe, positive, and skill-building environment for youth athletes. You will work closely with coaching staff to facilitate daily operations, manage camper safety, and represent the values of the Chapman Panthers.
Responsibilities
Instructional Support: Assist head and assistant coaches with the execution of drills, scrimmages, and skill-development stations.
Camper Supervision: Maintain active supervision of campers (typically ages 6-18) during check-in/check-out, lunch breaks, and transitions between facilities.
Logistics & Setup: Assist with the daily setup and breakdown of athletic equipment and hydration stations.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all University and NCAA safety protocols are met, including monitoring for heat-related illness and ensuring campers remain in designated areas.
Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, fostering sportsmanship and teamwork among participants.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications
Current Student Status: Must be currently enrolled as a student at Chapman University.
Athletic ground: Prior experience playing or coaching sports (at the high school or collegiate level) is preferred but not required for all camp types.
Communication Skills: Ability to give clear instructions to children and communicate effectively with parents and professional staff.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain active and on your feet for several hours and lift up to 25 lbs (equipment).
Documentation: Complete LiveScan

Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
A team-first attitude and high energy levels.
Experience in childcare, camp counseling, or community recreation.
