McDaniel College invites applications for a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position has a budgeted hiring rate of $54,000. This position is classified as an AO. The AO salary band for all full-time, 12-month positions at the college with this classification have a minimum rate of $43,880 and a maximum rate of $93,750. The actual schedule for exempt positions may vary based on the workload and responsibilities assigned.

Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine and Performance, this 12-month, full-time position serves as the colleges head strength and conditioning coach, responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating sport-specific strength, power, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning programs across in-season, off-season, and return-to-play phases.

Key Responsibilities Develop and oversee strength, power, speed, agility, mobility, and conditioning programs for assigned sport teams across in-season, off-season, and return-to-play phases. Coordinate facility access, scheduling, and equipment needs with athletics staff. Partner with head coaches to develop sport-specific weight training that aligns with practice plans and competition schedules. Demonstrate proper weight training techniques and prescribed exercises, ensuring a safe training environment. Monitor athlete participation, progress, and performance outcomes. Collaborate with Sports Medicine staff and coaches to develop strength and conditioning programs to strengthen overall performance, prevent injuries, and support rehabilitation. Maintain compliance with institutional, Centennial Conference and NCAA compliance rules.

  • Bachelors degree in related field; Masters Degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Current National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the present information one-to-one and in small group situations
