Day Camp Director I - (1 Position)
Salary: $23.59 per hour
(The current salary range is subject to change. You may confirm the starting salary with the hiring department before accepting a job offer.)
Available Hours: 0-39 hours a week | M-F | 7:30am to 6:00 p.m. (Hours may vary depending on the needs of the program)
June 15, 2026 - August 7, 2026.
Description of Duties: The Camp Director will develop, organize, and lead camp counselors and Part time staff with supervision and facilitation of day camp programs for ages 5 - 12 years. Conduct sports, general camp games, camp songs, cooking, theme weeks, special theme activities, and crafts. The Camp Director will also be responsible for working closely with staff, campers, and the Senior Recreation Director, as well as resolving issues that arise during camp between staff and/or campers. Develop and implement themed activities throughout camp. Assist with set-up and break-down of camp games and activities. Participate in all camp activities and songs. Create, develop and assist in the execution of special events, scavenger hunts and activities. Adhere to City and departmental policies and procedures; performs related duties as required
Qualifications: Experience in Program Planning and Staff Supervision. Exercises good judgment, courtesy, and tact with staff and public. Ability to supervise children in a variety of programs, trips and special events. Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and written. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, the public, staff and other agencies. Utilize quality customer service skills and techniques. Experience with kids of all ages and with implementation of recreation programs and activities. ECE credits, (or presently enrolled in course work) a plus, current certified van trained desirable. Current 1st Aid /CPR/ AED certification required.
