Assistant Golf Professional

Indian Hills Country Club is a private 18-hole facility designed by the famous golf course architect, A.W. Tillinghast, in 1925, and opened for play to the membership in the spring of 1926. The club is located in the upscale neighborhood of Mission Hills, Kansas, which is in the Kansas City metro. Over the years, the golf course has gone through a few renovations, though the integrity of the Tillinghast design has been maintained.

Indian Hills Country Club has hosted more than 50 USGA qualifying golf events (local and sectional US Open qualifiers) and state amateur championships, as well as the Watson Challenge in 2014 and 2022. In the summer of 2001, Indian Hills proudly hosted the 53rd U.S. Girls Junior Championship, the first USGA-conducted championship held at any club in Kansas City in over 40 years.

We strive to create a good work/life balance, therefore the Assistant will work 5 days per week, with the exception of hosting larger club events in season. Also, the successful applicant will have the ability to use PTO in season and staff rotate weekends, averaging one full weekend off per month. Hours will be reduced further in the off-season. The club is closed on Mondays, which will allow for PGA members to play in section events. The successful candidate will also have the ability to teach and play during working hours, as the work schedule allows.

The Club itself is a family-oriented facility with a successful Junior Golf Program, consisting of approximately 160 juniors. Our Golf Programs for Men, Women, and Junior players account for approximately 25,000 rounds of golf annually. With an active membership, the Club also has swimming, tennis, fitness, casual, and fine dining facilities. The Club is also well-known for creating a friendly and welcoming environment and places a high value on staff retention and advancement from within. The Director of Golf has served the Club for 44 years, and many other senior management positions have been at the Club for 20 years or more.

The successful candidate will assist in all golf-related aspects at Indian Hills Country Club. This individual must have strong interpersonal skills and communication skills and will be involved with the daily golf operations and golf programs. These skills are critical to our goals of supporting a strong work environment with positive morale between staff members and superior performance and service to our members and guests. This person will also be asked to play golf with members of all skill levels, dependent upon member activities.

• PGM Level II Associate or higher preferred
• Preferred private club experience
• Proficient in Golf Genius Software, Microsoft Office, Excel, Publisher, Club Essentials Starting Times & POS Systems
