Primary Purpose:
Assist with the complete operation and administration of the swim center
Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or equivalency
Bachelor's degree preferred
2-3 years experience as an American Red Cross Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor and/or Water Safety Instructor.
Certification*:
Certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard and/or Lifeguard Instructor including
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid
Certified in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor recommended
- Applicant has 90 days from date of employment to obtain certifications
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of overall operations of a swimming facility.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise all aquatic staff and assist with staff development
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform financial and clerical functions including, but not limited to, coding invoices, creating monthly financial reports and staff payroll, scheduling lifeguard staff, scheduling swim and dive lessons.
- Process athletic transportation requests and payment authorizations
- Complete closing procedures for the swim center
- Comply with all district and swim center policies, routines and regulations
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with all staff
- Maintain confidentiality
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff
- Regular and consistent attendance
- All other duties as assigned

Equipment Used:
Employee handles hazardous materials including chlorine bleach, hydrochloric acid, sodium
bisulfate, sodium thiosulfate, sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, muriatic acid, calcium
hypochlorite, and other such pool chemicals.

Demonstrate patience and flexibility in changing job demands and when interacting with employees, visitors and the public. Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Frequent and prolonged walking, standing and sitting. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting and climbing.
