The Agriculture Systems Summer Day Camp Counselor supports the supervision, instruction, and engagement of middle school students participating in a six-week agriculture and food systems summer camp. Counselors assist with daily activities, field experiences, service learning, and hands-on projects designed to expose students to food, agriculture, sustainability, and career pathways. Counselors work under the direction of Food & Agriculture Literacy staff and Lead Counselors to ensure a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervise and support students during daily camp activities and transitions.

Assist with the implementation of agriculture, food systems, and sustainability learning activities.

Support student participation in seed-to-plate projects and indoor growing activities.

Assist with STEM challenges, cooking competitions, and team-based learning activities.

Support field trips, service-learning projects, and guest speaker sessions.

Supervise students during farm visits and service projects at Mykawa Farm.

Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.

Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and respectful behavior among campers.

Assist with the preparation, setup, and cleanup of materials and learning spaces.

Support culturally responsive and inclusive learning practices.

Communicate student needs or concerns to Lead Counselors or FAL staff.

Assist with the preparation, setup, and cleanup of instructional materials and activities.

Support college and career exploration activities related to food and agriculture.

Model positive behavior and professionalism for students.

Contribute to a positive camp experience and successful program completion.

Other duties as assigned.

Workweek: Monday - Friday; Day shift.

Pay Details: $15.00/hr.
