Marching Band Director-Band Camp

Reports to Superintendent, Principal, and/or Supervisor of Fine & Performing Arts. In conjunction with the Director, responsibilities include support of the marching band program, including, but not limited to:

• Coordinate all planning and logistics including scheduling and transportation.
• Submit necessary documents for camp.
• Assign duties to all staff/chaperones.
• Coordinate staffing and supervision.
• Design, direct, and instruction of high school band.
• Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student's eligibility to participate in band.
• Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and board policy.
• Coordinate band booster club, and support band booster during camp preparation.
• Ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
• Maintain current inventory of all fixed assets within department.
• Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all color guard equipment.
• Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Accompany and supervise students on out-of-town trips.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Appropriate New Jersey Certification or New Jersey Substitute Certification required
