Lifeguard & Swim Instructor

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety and instruction of Members and Guests using the pool at the JCC

• First responder in case of an emergency and providing First Aid as needed throughout the facility

• Passion for teaching swimming lessons and working with children and adults

• Perform maintenance and related work, as required

• Flexible schedule. Regular part-time hours are available. Most shifts will include a mix of instruction and lifeguarding duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Lifesaving Swim Instructor

• National Lifeguard (NL Pool Option)

• Standard First Aid (within 2 year)

• CPR C / AED (within 1 year)

• Legally eligible to work in Canada

• Over the age of 16

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a lifeguard, instructor or coach

• Previous experience working with children & youth

• Previous experience as a First Aid Attendant

• LSI, Aquafit and/or other relevant certifications

Lifeguard rate $22/hour; Instructor rate $24/hour

The successful candidate must clear a vulnerable sector criminal record check as a condition of employment.
