Ames CSD is seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Work Schedule : 2-3 hours per day with various days/hours in season and off season.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Provides a proper warmup and stretching routine prior to all lifting sessions.
• Provides a safe working environment for all student-athletes during training sessions.
• Teaches and models proper foundational technique for all required lifts.
• Provides entry level lifters with basic technique and provides advanced technique to more experience lifters.
• Uses regular assessments to promote strength and conditioning growth and process.
• Monitors student-athlete attendance.
• Communities effectively with all students, coaches, and AD during the summer and school year on all information needed to run a successful strength and conditioning program.
• Be a positive and engaged instructor and attends all sessions on time.
• Maintains the security of the building and fitness center at all times when not in use.
• Creates a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all athletes and staff.
• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
• Experience with strength and conditioning at the high school level preferred.
• Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.

Compensation: $3,006 season stipend
