Job Description
The Summer Academic Youth Program Counselor will support the area of Pre-College and pipeline outreach. Counselors will have the opportunity to work with and support a variety of programs such as 1-day events, regional competitions (Falcon BEST Robotics and science Olympiad) educational booths at county fairs, day camps (Veterinary, Farm 2 Fork and STEM camps as well as at least one BGSU Residential camp (Marine Biology). Additional counselor responsibilities will be to support the Academic Enrichment Camp programs that support 80+ virtual camps. Counselors will work closely with their co-counselors to assemble, pack and prepare camp crates filled with engaging activities and materials that will be mailed to virtual camp participants.

- Serve as role model
- Overnight campus supervision for 1 residential camp
- Daily supervision for our Day Camp programs
- Assist with program and camp transitions when warranted
- Office Administrative tasks as warranted (preparing camper packets, bags, check-in rosters, name tags, etc)
- Meet with participants to resolve conflicts and positively influence their behaviors
- Plan and conduct student enrichment activities during evening hours of camp
- Attend weekly staff meetings and community meetings as directed
- Minimum 3 semester or 30 hours post-secondary education COMPLETED
- Preference given to candidates who are EDHD, HHS, and CAS majors
- Self-motivated
