Athletic Director (SCHS)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports to the principal.

• Organizes and administers the overall interscholastic athletic program for the school.

• Fosters good school/community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program.

• Assumes responsibility along with the head coach of each sport for the following:

• Organization and scheduling of all interscholastic sports.

• Transportation for athletic contest participants.

• Securing game officials.

• Establishes the physical and academic requirements for eligibility for participation in each sport and verifies each athlete's eligibility.

• Requisitions supplies, uniforms, and equipment for athletic programs.

• Arranges all details and needs of the visiting team.

• Makes all necessary arrangements for the use of non-playing fields and facilities.

• Arranges the practice schedules for the coaches on the fields and in the gymnasium.

• Administers the insurance program covering school athletics.

• Develops and places into operation appropriate rules and regulations covering the conduct of athletic activities.

• Participates in all required trainings by the AHSAA.

• Personally responsible for all fines handed down by the AHSAA.

• Other duties as assigned by the principal.
