POSITION OVERVIEW: Lake Area Technical College (LATC) & CNH Industrial of America are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled High-Horsepower and Midrange-Horsepower Tractor Technical Trainer to deliver advanced service training courses for Case IH and New Holland agricultural equipment dealers.

This position plays a vital role in supporting Regional Case IH (CIH) and New Holland dealer service technicians, field personnel, and internal company staff through high-quality technical instruction and hands-on training experiences. The trainer will work collaboratively with CNH product support teams and LATC staff to develop and deliver a comprehensive training curriculum focused on diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and operation of modern agricultural equipment systems.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in agricultural equipment systems, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to engage and educate technicians with varying levels of experience in both classroom and virtual environments.

The position includes occasional travel for train-the-trainer programs, dealer support events, and localized off-site training delivery.

This position represents a unique partnership between CNH Industrial of America and Lake Area Technical College, designed to strengthen agricultural equipment technician training and workforce development throughout the region. The collaboration supports dealer excellence, advanced technical education, and the continued growth of skilled agricultural service professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Construction Technology, Education, Training, Business Management, Diesel Technology, or a related field with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant technical, instructional, product support, or industry experience; OR
  • Associate degree in Agriculture, Construction Technology, Education, Training, Business Management, Diesel Technology, or a related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of ten (10) years of substantial technical, instructional, or agricultural industry experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of six (6) years combined experience in training, instruction, education, sales, technical support, or product management.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of classroom leadership or technical training experience.
  • Strong product knowledge of High Horsepower, Medium Horsepower, and Application Equipment is a plus.
  • Technical expertise related to the diagnostics of:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems (12V and 24V DC)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power systems
  • Ability to explain complex technical systems to audiences with varying experience levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, with basic working knowledge of Excel and related software applications.
  • Ability to travel 10% 25% percent of the time as required for training events and professional development.

Work Environment & Training Expectations

  • Training delivery will include classroom instruction, laboratory demonstrations, hands-on diagnostics, and virtual learning environments.
  • The trainer will conduct training courses throughout the year for dealer technicians and company personnel.
  • Training schedules may vary based on seasonal dealer support needs and product launches.
  • Candidate must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a customer-focused mindset while representing both CNH Industrial and Lake Area Technical College.

REPORTS TO: Corporate Education Director, Training Development and Delivery Manager (CNH)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver comprehensive technical service training courses for dealer service technicians, field personnel, and internal company personnel.
  • Provide instruction on high-horsepower agricultural equipment systems, including diagnostics, repair procedures, maintenance, and operational best practices.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom, laboratory, and virtual training sessions while maintaining a professional learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Development and Product Support teams to create and update training materials, presentations, assessments, and lab activities.
  • Support additional product support functions, including Technical Support and Technical Publications, as needed.
  • Maintain and manage training equipment inventory, tooling, and instructional resources required for service training activities.
  • Ensure all training courses and materials adhere to department guidelines, including pre/post-testing and standard course evaluations.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, logistics, and setup for onsite and offsite training events.
  • Deliver localized dealer training at off-site locations 10% - 25% of the time.
  • Effectively communicate with Technical Support, Product Management, engineering teams, and field personnel to identify product support needs and training priorities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage technician-focused classrooms and conduct virtual technical training sessions throughout the year.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-aligned training environment within Lake Area Technical College training facilities.

WAGE RANGE: $65,000.00 - $97,000.00

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 230-day contract per 12-month period with compensation set by the Watertown School Board.
