Job Description Summary:
The fitness attendant monitors the fitness center area to ensure all users are exercising in a safe manner. The attendant will also assist with questions and help with exercise techniques.

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.
University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.
In accordance with the Affordable Care Act ( ACA ), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.
Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.

Job Description Summary:
The fitness attendant monitors the fitness center area to ensure all users are exercising in a safe manner. The attendant will also assist with questions and help with exercise techniques.
Specific Duties:
- Welcome, greet and provide assistance to facility users
- Provide safe and effective instruction for all cardiovascular and resistance training equipment
- Provide safe advice to individuals regarding their exercise program and/or use of equipment
- Maintain and clean exercise equipment
- Enforce all facility rules
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with a resistance training and cardiovascular exercise
- Ability to use and operate resistance training and cardiovascular equipment
- Ability to assist individuals in developing a safe and effective exercise program
- Good communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to help all patrons of fitness center with any exercise programming needs Kinesiology Major/Minor
