As a Summer Camp Counselor for The Plateau Club, you will provide a safe and enjoyable environment while supervising the children who enroll in summer camp. You will maintain a professional attitude with children, parents and team members, act swiftly in any emergency situation and plan activities for summer campers throughout the summer as assigned by the Camp Coordinator. Counselors will assist with all activities and be expected to lead activities and games, go swimming, and conduct behavior management. This is a seasonal, part-time position from late June through late August.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the campers are accounted for by doing headcounts/count offs throughout the day using a camp roster.Prepare activities that are safe, fun, and enriching for 6-11-year-old campers.Provide leadership, direction and supervision of games and activities.Supervise campers throughout each day during all activities, meal/snack times, and IN THE POOL during swimming.Work with the Recreation Center Manager and Summer Camp Coordinator to coordinate on scheduling and planning for camp days.Provide quality customer service in a courteous and timely manner.Provide accurate information about programs and activities to members.Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with 6-11-year-old children in a camp, classroom or recreational capacity.Experience being a leader for groups of young children and navigating behavior management situations among children.Ability to understand the needs of young people and interest in supporting their growth and basic needs.Ability to work from June 22, 2026 through August 21, 2026Current CPR/First Aid certification

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

Offered rate of pay range: $17.13 - $18.50 per hourEligible for overtime
