Recreation Aid (Lifeguard)

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at Mountain Home AFB, ID.

This is a Flexible work schedule with no minimum guaranteed hours, but may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: For pool and aquatic center lifeguards: An approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid training, and CPR (both child and adult) training is preferred. For coastal lifeguards: In addition to the above, must also have surf rescue techniques training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
