About our Department:

The goal of the Department of Parks & Recreation is to provide opportunities for recreation to all citizens regardless of family structure, income, gender, or ethnic origin. Recreation Leader-Summer Camp Staff (Temporary Part-Time) Position Overview:

This is specialized work in organizing, leading and instructing summer camp activities at a recreation or community center. Work involves responsibility for direct supervision and care of a group of children ages six to twelve during a summer camp program, planning and leading daily camp activities, ensuring participants' safety, and fostering a positive camp environment while actively participating in camp programming. Work also involves setting up equipment and facilities for activities, participating in staff training and orientation, and working as a member of the Community Services team.

Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency and some experience in an organized recreation program; or any combination of education, training and experience.

Valid Driver's License

Summer Camp starts on June 1 (8-week commitment)
