Thats why our Personal Trainer is such an important role in our Parks & Recreation department. This position delivers a motivating, safe, and supportive training experience for clients at the new Redmond Senior and Community Center. Its an excellent part-time opportunity for someone with experience in personal training . You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about health and wellness and love empowering individuals of all ages and ability levels to build confidence, improve their fitness, and achieve meaningful personal goals.
Hours: Variable, based on scheduled personal training clients. We are seeking trainers with morning, daytime, and/or evening availability to accommodate a range of client needs. The position is limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week on average and no more than 1,040 hours per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct personalized training sessions that begin and end on time, following individualized client programs.
- Adapt programming to meet clients needs, goals, limitations, and abilities.
- Provide coaching cues, encouragement, and form corrections to ensure safe and effective workouts.
- Track client progress and update training plans as needed.
- Communicate professionally with clients and staff regarding scheduling, goals, and safety concerns.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of fitness science and training methods.
- Knowledge of customer service practices and professional ethics.
- Skill in motivating clients and delivering safe, effective programs.
- Ability to design and adapt individualized workouts for diverse ages and abilities.
- Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with clients and staff.
- Ability to uphold policies, ensure safety, and respond proactively to concerns.
- Ability to accept feedback and promote enthusiasm for fitness activities.
Physical Demands:
The following represent the physical demands that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- Frequent communication with City employees and customers
- Hours will vary and personal training appointments may be scheduled in morning, evening, or weekends
- Ability to demonstrate exercises, adjust equipment, and occasionally move items up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to remain active for extended periods while demonstrating proper form and technique.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or related field, preferred
- At least one year of experience in leading group exercise classes
- Successful passing of a required background check.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must have First Aid and CPR certification within two months of hire
- Current Personal Trainer certifications (ACE, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent) highly preferred
