The Head Golf Professional is responsible for promoting the game of golf and creating an exceptional experience for members and guests at the club. This role delivers outstanding customer service, oversees golf shop operations, and manages golf-related activities. The position collaborates with the management team to drive revenue growth through innovative programming, member engagement initiatives, and high-quality instruction. This role requires a deep passion for golf, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster a positive environment that encourages participation, enjoyment, and a sense of community among members and guests.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in golf operations and customer service.
- PGA or LPGA Professional Certification is mandatory.
Preferred
- College degree in a related field.
- Direct financial management and budget responsibility experience.
- Ability to handle confidential company information and sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Commitment to upholding the highest level of ethical work standards.
- Deliver efficient and friendly customer service across all areas of the pro shop.
- Provide high-quality golf instruction to members and guests in accordance with Invited and PGA/LPGA standards.
- Develop and promote golf clinics, private lessons, and programs for adults, juniors, and seniors.
- Promote the game of golf and the club through professionalism, service, and engagement.
- Build strong relationships with members through committees, clinics, lessons, and on-course interaction.
- Create and manage an annual golf calendar of activities and events.
- Establish and achieve sales and instruction goals in compliance with company policies.
- Develop and oversee golf revenue strategies, marketing initiatives, and net revenue plans.
- Supervise outside golf operations including marshals, starters, and golf shop attendants.
- Lead golf shop operations through staff training, motivation, and regular meetings.
- Manage golf operations staff including recruiting, hiring, evaluations, and development.
- Build a service excellence team focused on value, member satisfaction, and retention.
- Plan, promote, and execute tournaments and special golf events in coordination with other departments.
- Oversee event promotion, scheduling, execution, and post-event wrap-up.
- Ensure staff are properly trained and follow club guidelines and procedures.
