Job Title: ELDER VICTIMS OF CRIME WELLNESS COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elder Victims of Crime Wellness Coordinator to provide individuals with support needed to cope with crime committed against the elderly by advising victims, providing education and counseling, and making referrals for other services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocacy : Provide advocacy services and support to elder victims of crime for various things, including but not limited to, financial and insurance abuse scams. Provide appropriate intervention while empowering elder individuals to make decisions on their own behalf to decide on their path and their actions.
  • Assessment : Assess immediate needs of clients and address them appropriately.
  • Collaborate: Collaborate frequently with Agency staff members and outside organizations in the community to provide support to clients.
  • Information & Referral: Provide information and referral services for victims and families/caregivers regarding practical and environmental needs. Provides information and resources to qualified victims and other clients that meet grant service requirements.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit and train volunteer advocates in accordance with policy guidelines.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance by documenting services provided via timely and accurate submission of reports tracking outreach and victim services. Communicates regularly with Supervisor regarding scheduling of events, outreach, and availability.
  • Research: Research existing elder victim programs that can be implemented at the Agency.
  • Presentations: Organizes and creates presentations within MS Office programs and Canva to further community knowledge of victimization and assistance available.
  • Health Promotion: Schedules and completed blood pressure clinics while providing health promoting education.
  • Medicare: Assists in providing Medicare updates and information to qualified individuals during Open Enrollment and to new beneficiaries.
  • Older Americans Act: Maintains current knowledge of state and Older Americans Act regulations and requirements pertaining to senior centers in Arkansas.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations and organizational objectives.

Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to exercise independent and sound judgement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to proficiently use and perform key functions of MS Office and Canva programs.
  • Possess valid driver's license.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to travel out of the area and overnight.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
