Under the guidance of the Vice President, Sales and Engagement, the Event Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of assigned groups needs during their stay. This position serves as a liaison between group leaders and YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly, ensuring a positive mountaintop experience for each group. By working closely with departments, the Event Coordinator will cultivate a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the organization.

Located in Black Mountain, North Carolina, on 1,200 acres of forested woodland, YMCA Blue Ridge serves as a leadership and training center for schools, nonprofits, churches, families and YMCAs throughout North Carolina, the southeast and beyond. Qualifications- Bachelors degree, preferably in the areas of Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or Communications
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in event coordinating or hospitality
- Professional demeanor and the ability to work well with staff, volunteers, stakeholders and partner organizations. The capacity to develop and maintain meaningful relationships at various levels inside and outside the organization is essential for success.

- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and spreadsheet software
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
- Secure and confirm all details for groups by staying in communication with group leadership beginning 90 days prior to group arrival. Communication will be done by e-mail, phone, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings, depending on the group leaders preference.
- Confirm that all contracted groups are informed of the Assemblys program, meal, and meeting opportunities and promote appropriate services.
- Enter all event details in hospitality software, generating weekly reports for all departments. Make sure all updates and changes are communicated.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with conference leaders and departments of the Assembly and serve as a liaison between the two.
- Be available to meet with group leaders in person when they arrive.

- Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- Eligible for YMCA Retirement Fund after two years: YMCA Blue Ridge contributes an amount equal to 12% of gross pay to the fund at no cost and without any matching requirement.
