Supervisory Recreation Specialist

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY RECREATION SPECIALIST in the AC/S, Marine Corps Community Services, Semper Fit & Commercial Recreation of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing the daily operations of an aquatics recreation program including training personnel, preparing financial reports and organizing special events.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:

Must have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education with a major study in general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation (e.g. senior citizens, institutional, etc.); or physical education.

Or
Must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement with a major study in general education, or one of the appropriate fields of recreation such as outdoor recreation; recreation and parks leadership; wild land recreation management; natural resources recreation; youth recreation; public, urban, or community recreation; special populations recreation (e.g. senior citizens, institutional, etc.); or physical education.

Or
Must have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
