Job DetailsJob Location: LAKEVIEW RECREATION CENTER - PEORIA, IL 61614Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $16.00 - $18.00 HourlyDuties: Under the direction of the Coordinator of Dance Programs and Manager of Athletics & Recreation Services, the Dance Instructor is responsible for the following:
Using a set curriculum, conduct, and teach activities.
Keeping all areas clean and safe for guests.
Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed; supporting all aspects of the Park Districts safety procedures.
Performs all other duties as required.
*Hours*: 1-2 days/week and Saturday mornings
Essential Functions: The work requires some physical exertion in handling supplies and materials relevant to programming. Prolonged standing, bending, and stooping. Ability to understand and complete paperwork and record-keeping in order to complete duties. Ability to operate computer, copy machine, scanner, etc. Ability to lift up to 40lbs.QualificationsExperience: Previous experience in dance, either as a student or as an instructor preferred. Teaching experience and experience in customer service preferred.
Knowledge and Ability:
Ability to work flexible hours, specifically nights and weekends.
Must possess excellent customer service and organizational skills.
Ability to work harmoniously with the public and Peoria Park District personnel.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Familiarity with the operation of general office equipment.
Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
