Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the safety of staff and patrons including accident prevention in the water and in the surrounding areas. Facilitates the rescue and care of accident victims. Oversees daily maintenance facility security transactions and reporting.

The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work is similar; related; or a logical assignment to the position.Direct, assign, and supervise all staff.Comply with and enforce all policies, procedures, and regulations set by management.Provide exceptional customer service - professional, courteous, tactful, and alert.Prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous conditions.Educate patrons regarding the purpose of the pool rules and regulations.Respond quickly to all emergency situations in the water or in surrounding areas.Administer any first aid needed by an accident victim.Plan and conduct swimming lessons for a variety of ages and abilities.Attend and/or facilitate staff meetings and trainings.Complete all daily records and reports as required (e.g.; receipts; deposits).Oversee maintenance, accidents, rescues, first aid, and the daily opening and closing of the pool, including responsibility for locking all gates and doors on a daily basis.Communicates information about daily pool operations, maintenance, accidents to the Pool Director.Present oneself in a professional manner at all times.Perform other support duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age.Graduation from high school or equivalent.Certification in Water Safety Instruction.Certification in Lifeguarding, Adult and Child CPR, and Standard First Aid certification or equivalent required.Knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of the pool programs and ability to enforce all policies, procedures, and regulations set by Pool Operation management and the facility.Strong observation, teamwork, and collaboration skills.Ability to provide instruction, training, and evaluation of other pool staff at a high level of competency within guidelines set forth by the Pool Director or Assistant Pool Director.Ability to manage large or small groups of program participants, able to address behavior issues, and diffuse conflicts in an effective and courteous way.Ability to recognize areas needing improvement and to take initiative to implement corrective measures and meet the highest expectations in safety and cleanliness of the facility.Successful completion of chemical safety and management training.Demonstrated competency in filter maintenance per on-the-job training and as determined by pool management.Professional presentation and positive role model in the execution of duties, at all times.Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to facilitate staff meetings and safety trainings.Ability to assume additional shifts on short notice.
