Head Golf Professional

  • Columbia Country Club
  • Blythewood, South Carolina
  • Full Time
Columbia Country Club is a property with deep historical significance and a strong tournament pedigree within the Midlands. It has long been recognized as one of the foundational clubs in the area, and we are committed to restoring it to that level of prominence. Over the past year, we have invested heavily in bringing the original Ellis Maples design back to life. The championship 18 is being carefully restored with new greens, fairways, bunkers, tees, and significant tree work, all supported by a modern irrigation system. The goal is not just improvement, but a true restoration that honors the club’s architectural roots while elevating playability and conditioning. Looking ahead, we have significant capital projects planned that will continue to transform the club. We are planning to close the clubhouse in October for a $12 million renovation that will completely redefine the member experience. In addition, we will be renovating the driving range and completing work on our third nine, further enhancing the overall facility. These improvements are part of a long-term vision to position Columbia Country Club as the premier club in the Midlands. From a tournament standpoint, we have strong aspirations as well. Our vision is to bring Columbia back into the spotlight as a venue capable of hosting significant amateur and collegiate championships, with the infrastructure and presentation to support them. Beyond the golf course, we are also developing plans for cottages and apartment-style accommodations on property to support a true stay-and-play experience for members and guests. This will tie into the broader Bluebird platform, where we integrate golf, hospitality, and entertainment across multiple assets.
