Summer Camp Counselor

Athena Coding is looking for Summer Camp Counselors to join our team and support a licensed outdoor camp at NARA Park in Acton, MA.

Camp Counselors will help lead young campers through a variety of activities including outdoor games, arts and crafts, STEM projects, and structured daily routines in a fun and supportive environment.

The camp runs from June 29 through August 28 (except July 3), core hours are 8:15 to 4:15 PM (includes setup/dismissal).

Responsibilities:
-Supervise a group of campers and lead daily activities.
-Ensure camper safety through active supervision, headcounts, and transitions.
-Assist with lunch, snack, breaks, and dismissal routines.
-Support waterfront transitions (lifeguards manage swim; counselors assist with supervision).
-Communicate with camp leadership regarding attendance, behavior, and safety.
-Maintain a clean, organized space and leave facilities in good condition.

Qualifications:
-Reliable, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with children.
-Ability to work outdoors in summer weather.
-Prior experience with children (camp, coaching, babysitting, tutoring, etc.) is a plus.
-CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (training support available if needed).

Requirements (before starting):
-Ability to pass background checks as required for youth programs.
-Attend paid training/orientation before the first week of camp.
-Commit to a consistent schedule (we prioritize full-season availability).
